Our Story

Knowledge, proximity, and dedication

About us

SOLUMI was born in 2011, when Desi and Marco met in London. What began as a professional relationship soon became our life project, built on closeness, honesty, dedication, and a job well done. The name SOLUMI comes from our three daughter’s names: Sofía (wisdom), Lucía (light), and Emilia (effort), reflecting the values that inspire the clinic's way of working.

At SOLUMI, health is understood from a global perspective, where the organism functions as a complex system in which biological, psychological, and social factors interact. The body's different systems, habits, experiences, emotions, thoughts, rest, and exercise are all part of this interaction and shape overall well-being. Understanding these relationships allows us to address each case thoroughly and personally.

The first session is a fundamental step in the process. During this session, an in-depth assessment is carried out to understand each person's situation, identify the factors influencing their problem, and design a plan tailored to their needs. The goal of SOLUMI is not only to relieve symptoms, but to help understand what is happening and guide each patient through their recovery. To achieve this, every treatment is based on the best available scientific evidence, clinical experience, and individual goals, within a calm environment featuring private treatment rooms and a dedicated space for therapeutic exercise and functional rehabilitation.

Sarah Johnson

Desi

Physiotherapist and Osteopath

With more than 20 years of international experience across Germany, the United Kingdom, and Spain, I specialise in trauma rehabilitation, neurology, and therapeutic exercise. Throughout my professional career, I have worked primarily in hospitals within the National Health Service (NHS), the UK public healthcare system, including centers such as St George's Hospital in London, alongside private practice experience. My post-graduate training includes specializations in neurodynamics, motor control, therapeutic Pilates, and lymphatic drainage, integrating diverse therapeutic tools based on clinical reasoning and scientific evidence. My approach combines physiotherapy, osteopathy, and a holistic patient assessment to enhance function, support recovery, and promote overall well-being tailored to each individual's needs.

Marco

Physiotherapist and Osteopath

With over 20 years of clinical experience in Spain and the United Kingdom, I specialise in clinical reasoning applied to complex musculoskeletal conditions and persistent chronic pain. I created and led the First Contact Practitioner Physiotherapist service at Braintree Primary Care Network (PCN), Essex, within the National Health Service (NHS), coordinating musculoskeletal care across 5 medical centers serving approximately 57,000 patients. I hold advanced training in manual therapy, neurodynamics, persistent pain, and Heart Rate Variability (HRV). My approach is grounded in structured clinical reasoning, individualised assessment, and active patient involvement in their recovery, empowering them to understand their condition and providing tools to optimize function and well-being.

We are located in Pastoriza, Arteixo, just a few minutes from A Coruña, Carballo, Laracha, and Oleiros.
